Why I love living the West Coast life.

After using my last professional Nikon SLR camera since 1989 ( and it is still a top-notch fim camera), a fantastic new Nikon D40X has taken its place. Where I go, the Nikon goes, and here are a few pictures from around the Vancouver coastal area. A full screen view can be seen by clicking on the individuals, and allowing to load.

  1. These are great shots Laila … as I imagine all your photos are.
I’ve lived in the Lower Mainland all my life — born and raised a North Burnaby girl — and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Your photos tell part of the story — it’s so unbelievably beautiful. Amongst the hustle and bustle of city life, there are serene pockets of peace … the calm we can escape to within less than an hour.
Thanks for sharing these photos and for that reminder (while we reluctantly slip into colder weather) of how great the Metro Vancouver area is.

  2. Thanks Suzanne, I’m glad you enjoyed them! Having a fantastic camera makes taking nice photos easier than ever.
I was really feeling a little sad at the thought of the rainy winter in a few months, and thought perhaps others were feeling the same way. Its nice to have that reminder of how lucky we are here on the coast – most of the time!
I am starting a weekly photo feature where I will share some shots of my weekend outings, of the interesting and beautiful places right among us.
