‘McYummy’ burger Vancouver Sun review belongs in the McTrash can - Part of my morning routine includes scanning the dailies for items of interest. Usually I find a lot of old news,re-hashed news, and on slow news days- even “created” news. But yesterdays Vancouver Sun reached a new standard with an actual taste-test food review of McDonald’s new Angus burger.
Yes, the paper devoted approximately 500 words worth of space to the what is perhaps the grossest fast-food outlet in the world. Several samples of both the new Angus Burger and the good old Big Mac were brought in, tasted and compared against each other. A play by play analysis follows the entire debacle. Oh my god.
What next? Slurpee reviews from 7-11? In defence of Mia Stansby, the food reviewer for the Sun, it appears the idea wasn’t hers – the article points to her editor, Dominic Patten, as the person behind this waste of space. I’m thinking he just needed a way to justify actually consuming one, which he did during the tasting- scarfing down an entire McDonalds Angus burger. Convicted pedophiles have no rights- A supreme court judge has ruled that a known and convicted pedophile did not breach his probation terms when he attended a carnival in the BC village of Hazelton. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/04/29/bc-pedophile-ruling.html . Apparently the judge felt that attending such a place was within his rights, and wasn’t the same as hanging out at a playground or school. WTF??? This ruling is so wrong, for so many reasons, I honestly don’t know where to begin. Since when is a carnival NOT a massive attraction for kids? Little Johnny Pedophile must be laughing all the way to Play-land now…how about this? How about imposing some real restrictions on men like this? How about no hanging out at carnivals, malls, parks, schools, or any other establishment that is a known attraction for kids? Oh wait, I forgot – our grand old Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects criminals better than it protects average citizens like you or I anymore…
Communication technology makes lying easier to do,but harder to get away with -Technology today is amazing. Call display, answering machines that record the date and time of the message, archived calls,caller ID, cell phones, call forwarding- you name it we all have it. I work from home, have three kids and am easily contactable – my responsibilities depend on it. If someone wants to get a hold of me, you call home, or my cell, or email. Easy enough- it happens many, many times a day, and never a missed call.
So imagine how funny I thought it was when I was told recently that someone “was trying to get a hold of you several times, for weeks,left messages and no one got back to them”….hmmmm. Caller ID shows nothing from this persons numbers. No messages. Cell phone didn’t ring. Email box empty. Obviously no one called, so why the lie? does it make you feel better? trying to cover your ass somehow? In this day and age, technology makes it both harder and easier for people to lie about almost anything. “I called- your machine didn’t work”, or ” Hmmm, that’s funny, your line was busy all day” ( even though calls are routed to the machine…. or my favorite ” There must have been a mis-communication…”
Sure there was a miscommunication - you mis-communicated the truth to me…lol. Give me a break, and dont waste your breathe lying to me, because I’m going to call you on it everytime.

No that I wish to ruin your day, however, I note that the MS 13 individual is once again free in your neck of the woods. Quit the MS 13? I don’t think so. Not allowed. The question to be asked is just how many are here and how entrenched already?
My thoughts exactly- as I understand, the only sure way to quit a gang like this without great support covering your ass and assuming a new identity far away, is to die.
There is quite a bit of internet chatter about current events happening in the gang, and movement across the states and Canada. Some forums have now been halted and are under monitor due to threats against those who talk. Why is he here? Why do they let him go free, when we all know whats going to happen in the end?
Once again, the bleeding heart of Canadian authorities seems to be in question.
By the way, whats up with Laibar singh? Did he ever go home – I think not. What will it take before someone sees the light and says enough is enough?
Unfortunately I think it will take a tragedy to get any meaningful change, as so often is the case today. Ever have a look at the make up of the Review Boards?

Try as I might, I have unable to find a bio/resume on the silly woman who thought this gangster exaggerates his exploits, and thus chose to think he was suitable for release. Perhaps her background and qualifications could offer us all some enlightenment.
